Common problems
Bacterial wilt
- What you will see
- Plants wilting while still green, with milky ooze from a cut stem held in water.
- What to do
- No cure. Pull and burn, plant on raised beds, and do not follow with tomato, pepper or garden egg.
Fruit and shoot borer
- What you will see
- Wilted shoot tips and holes bored into the fruit.
- What to do
- Cut out and destroy bored shoots twice a week, and pick up fallen fruit.
